We worked the minor holidays when I worked for Boeing. However, we were given the day off on Thanksgiving and the days from Christmas Eve to the day after New Year's Day. I spent a few years working for Boeing on an Air Force base, where we observed federal holidays. We were able to use some of the days off between Christmas and New Years because it meant we didn't get as many holidays. Even still, not everybody at Boeing was able to enjoy Black Friday and Winter Break. Major facility repair would be scheduled for such times, and personnel who worked during those times received pay for working holidays. Martin Luther King Day was the day I ended up working, and I was paid for it.
